Story:Taiki Shimada is dedicated to creating products with zero waste by transforming old cloth and scrap fabric from the clothing-making process into beautiful BORO items. Using fabrics he personally dyes, Mure breathes new life into discarded materials, turning them into unique, handcrafted pieces.

During a buying trip for pottery in the seaside town of Amakusa, I had the pleasure of meeting Mure, a young artisan who grew up with the potter family of Maruo Kiln, with whom I collaborate. Mure crafts each item by hand, ensuring that no material goes to waste. His journey began when he was struck by the excessive waste generated in clothing production, prompting him to launch his own brand focused on sustainability. Every piece is hand-stitched, reflecting Mure’s commitment to quality and individuality. He emphasizes the importance of using items repeatedly, advocating for a lifestyle that values longevity and resourcefulness.
