The Hanatebako camellia box is a beautifully handcrafted treasure from Kumamoto, Japan, created by Tadayoshi Sumioka and his family. With roots dating back to 1935, this box embodies generations of artistry and tradition. Originating from Hitoyoshi city, the Hanatebako has been a cherished storage for children’s treasures like tiddlywinks and beanbags, celebrating the joys of childhood.

Crafted from fir, cypress, and cedar, its vibrant colors and motifs reflect the beauty of nature, blending nostalgia and joy. With origins tracing back over 800 years to the Heike refugees in the Kuma region, this box symbolizes the hope and resilience of those who sought to recreate the beauty of their lost homeland.
