The Monkey Dolls, with origins dating back 1,300 years, are handcrafted by 7th-generation artisan Reizo Nagata and his daughter Sae. Made from local red soil, they process the clay in their backyard and hand-build each unique doll without molds. These terra-cotta monkey dolls are believed to protect against illness and evil spirits.

To celebrate "Hinamatsuri," or Girls' Day, on March 3rd, families in Japan honor young girls' health and happiness by displaying ornate hina dolls. Add a fun twist to this tradition with monkey versions of the traditional Japanese dolls. Each piece is handmade in Kumamoto, Japan, making them a distinctive and charming addition to your celebration.

Each doll is hand painted and have unique characteristics.
